FEMA at the fair: Experts offer free hurricane relief advice at NC State Fair

Raleigh, N.C. — In addition to its usual appeals like food, agriculture displays, showcases and rides, the North Carolina State Fair is focused on something new this year — hurricane relief.
This year, those affected by Hurricane Florence are able to get help navigating the recovery process at the fair.
FEMA mitigation specialists will be offering potentially lifesaving advice all day starting Monday at 9 a.m. inside the Kerr Scott Building.
The representatives will have tips on how to rebuild stronger to be better prepared for a storm and answer questions about home repairs, making disaster plans and the importance of flood insurance.
Also on Monday, state lawmakers are expected to approve a multi-million dollar relief package to help victims of the storm.
